Longview, Washington – The American Association of Port Authorities recently honored the Port of Longview with the Overall Award of Communications Excellence for the 2017 Summer Tour Series.
The annual competition evaluates outreach and communications projects from ports across the nation. The Port’s entry for the Summer Tour Series was one of 39 entries from among the following 15 mid-sized ports:
Maryland Port Administration
North Carolina State Ports Authority
Port of Brownsville
Port of Coos Bay
Port of Galveston
Port of Gulfport
Port of Hueneme
Port of New Orleans
Port of Palm Beach
Port of Stockton
Port of Vancouver
Ports of Indiana
Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority
The average score for all entries among mid-sized ports was 87 out of 100. The Port of Longview’s Summer Tour Series scored 95.67, thereby securing the Overall Award of Communications Excellence.
“This award is a testament to our talented staff,” said Port Commission President, Jeff Wilson. “I am very proud of their professionalism, creativity and commitment to their community, as are my fellow Commissioners.”
Each entry is scored by a panel of outside communications professionals in the Washington DC area. This is the first time the Port of Longview has received this award.
